X Factor star Andy Abraham is set to return to Birmingham next month for a special performance.
And he’ll be joined by Britain’s Got Talent saxophonist Julian Smith, at an evening of fine dining and entertainment at the popular Resorts World venue.
Andy’s return to Brum comes after his sell-out Big Bands tour back in 2012, which saw the reality star and his 13-piece swing band delight the crowds at the Alexandra Theatre on Suffolk Queensway.
Now Andy will be appearing alongside Julian, who finished third just behind Susan Boyle and dance troupe Diversity on the 2009 series of Britain’s Got Talent.
The duo will entertain an exclusive crowd at Birmingham’s swish Highline restaurant and bar, part of the Resorts World venue near the NEC, on February 21.
“Birmingham is a fantastic place to visit and perform at,” said Andy. “Last time I had so much fun with the Big Bands tour that I’m pleased to have a second trip there.
“This time I’ll be joined by Julian, who really is an exceptional saxophonist with a tremendous passion for what he does. I’m looking forward to bringing some classic soul sounds for a night to remember.”
A platinum-selling artist, Andy is fresh from a busy 2019 during which he travelled the country with his successful Nat King Cole Songbook Tour.
The series of gigs, which included a stop-off in nearby Solihull, paid tribute to the sounds of the soul legend on what would have been his 100th year.
Now he’s hoping to bring his unique showmanship and singing voice to the crowds of the Resorts World complex, which last month hosted the final of X Factor: The Band.
The popularity of the long-standing talent show is something Andy is all too familiar with, having reached the final of the 2005 series with eventual winner Shayne Ward.
“It’s amazing when you consider the longevity of the show,” added Andy. “I’m proud to be following in the footsteps of yet another successful series, with a stop-off at the famous Resorts World venue.”
