Industrial Disease Team Help Beauty Therapist Claim Compensation

Manchester solicitors firm AWH Solicitors have recently helped an overworked beauty therapist. The woman acquired a painful back injury after being made to work long hours with no breaks. She worked as a general beauty therapist in a hotel and spa, but was most frequently working as a masseuse.

Because of this, she was required to bend at an uncomfortable angle for sometimes up to six hours a day, which is more than is suggested as an acceptable period. The massage bed which she was required to use was non adjustable in height too, which meant the lady had no choice but to injure her back in order to fulfil her job requirements.

Not only was the equipment she was made to use insufficient, but she was also unable to take any rest breaks during the working day due to the amount of clientele she had to see to.

A lot of job roles in the leisure industry pose a risk to those who fill them, but only if employers are negligent. Luckily, despite her employer’s failure to treat her correctly, this woman was back to normal after four weeks. With the help of AWH’s industrial disease solicitors she was able to take the time off work to let her back recover and received £1,000 in compensation which was awarded for her pain and suffering.
