Expansion of Kendal car dealership

Pye Motors has completed an expansion of its Kendal dealership.

The branch, on Mint Bridge Road, made significant investment into the expansion. It will also create local employment, with three additional full-time positions.

The external extension now allows a further 30 vehicles to be displayed in the presentation area. The changes to the internal infrastructure include an upgraded MOT facility, allowing MOT class seven (long commercial vehicles), while also doubling the capacity for light commercial vehicles.

Liam O’Neill, branch manager of Pye Motors, said: “Many small and medium-sized local businesses rely on us to help keep them moving and keep their wheels turning. The workshop investment is primarily to support those people and their businesses.”

The expansion of the dealership was given the green light after the site began to outgrow its existing premises. It needed solutions to offer additional customer parking and increase the display areas.

Liam, who became branch manager of the site in 2012 having joined Pye Motors in 2002, said: “I’m really proud of the team and their efforts in growing the business in Kendal. We’re all keen to support the growing demand for Ford cars and transit business in the area. When possible, we used local suppliers and contractors for the site’s expansion and upgrade.”

Liam added: “Demand for our ‘locally sourced’ vehicles has increased, and now over 75% of our stock is ‘locally sourced’. Vehicle provenance is growing more important to customers – they really care about the quality and history of their vehicles. If a vehicle is locally sourced, this tells customers that these vehicles were both supplied and maintained by us, and not sourced from ex-rental fleets or auctions. People want transparency and to know that they’ll be looked after. That’s what we do.”
